First Time Solo Traveler // Tips and Tricks

Kings and Queens, the time has finally arrived. I have taken the big step and decided to plan my first ever trip alone. Trust me it was not easy, but it had to be done. I kept on asking people to go with me and it just turned out to be the biggest disappointment ever. And let's just say Gu-wee was over being disappointed or dropped at the last minute.

But you didn't come here to read about my disappointments, you came for my tips and tricks to get ready for your first solo travel. And let me say that I am super proud of you for taking the first step.

1. Mindset.

You need to change your mindset. Stop thinking that if you travel alone, you will not have fun or that you will be an outcast because you won't. I had to change my mindset, if I was to travel alone and enjoy it. I did a lot of soul searching and I went back and forth and kept on postponing my trip. But I told myself "if not now, when?"

2. Pick Your Destination.

I've always wanted to go to San Francisco. And that is the destination I picked. Choose a place that you have never been to and always wanted to visit. A place that you know you will be able to have fun at without any company.

3. Research Research.

Make sure you do your research on the destination you are planning on visiting. If you are going to a different county, make sure you know the rules and what is excepted and what not. Fortunate for me I am just going to San Francisco there aren't many restrictions.

4. Itinerary

As a solo traveler, you are in control of EVERYTHING and that includes planning what you are going to do when you get there. Pinterest was a great help to give me an idea of what I can do in San Francisco. Asking around and googling is also a big help. These pins below were helped me and there are plenty of other pins that I used. Feel free to check them out.

5. ENJOY! You Deserve it.

You worked too hard not to enjoy your trip. And I am speaking about myself here. Giving me the motivation to go out there and enjoy it. I paid for it so I am going to enjoy it to the fullest.
